Q1: What should I do after an accident?
A1: If there are injuries, call 911 immediately. Do not move your vehicle unless you are in harms way and it would be safer to get your vehicle to a different location. Get the name and phone number of the person driving the other vehicle along with the license plate, driver's license number and insurance information. Note the date and time and if you have a camera, take pictures of the damage. Then call Hawley Collision's 24 hour tow line (647) 981-4869 and we will advise you from there.
Q2: Who gets to choose my collision repair centre, me or my insurance company?
A2: YOU have the right to choose where your car is repaired. Hawley Collision offers highly trained technicians, maintains up-to-date training and certifications, performs top quality repairs and offers a written lifetime warranty.
Q3: Are all collision repair warranties the same?
A3: NO. Many repair centres claim to have a lifetime warranty but what does "lifetime" really mean? Hawley Collision has been in business since 1946, and we're not going anywhere anytime soon, so our lifetime warranty really IS good for as long as you own your vehicle. When choosing a repair shop - choose WISELY.
Q4: How many estimates am I required to get?
A4: By law, you are only required to obtain one estimate or appraisal.
Q5: Why are estimates so different from one location to another?
A5: Estimates may differ from one location to another depending on the experience and thoroughness of the damage appraisal process. Estimates that may appear to be less expensive may be that way because necessary repairs have been omitted from the initial estimate. Hawley Collision has highly-trained and certified appraisers that take their time to identify all of the damage and repairs required so there are no surprises.
Q6: How do I know that the repairs will be done properly?
A6: Hawley Collision offers a written lifetime warranty for the time that you own your vehicle. All of our technicians are highly trained and I-CAR certified. We maintain very strict standards for certification and all vehicles received our 5 star inspection prior to the vehicle being returned. With Hawley Collision you can feel confident that the repairs will be done right!
Q7: How do I know if I need to pay a deductible?
A7: If you are responsible for the accident and the claim is going through your insurance company your deductible is based on what your policy states. Deductibles range anywhere between $250-$1000. The amount of the deductible also depends on the type of claim; comprehensive, collision, uninsured motorist or "hit and run". It is important to verify the amount of your deductible through your insurance company.
Q8: When and how do I pay for my deductible?
A8: Your deductible is due when your vehicle is picked up once the repairs are complete.
